[10:35] PetTrout: Anyway, like I was sayin', salmon is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, salmon-kabobs, salmon creole, salmon gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple salmon, lemon salmon, coconut salmon, pepper salmon, salmon soup, salmon stew, salmon salad, salmon and potatoes, salmon burger, salmon sandwich. That- that's about it.

Exhausted. I spent a full week being sick and trying to recover from being sick. I am NEVER doing that again. "Working from home" is awesome, but I really DID work from home and wow, I didn't get any rest nor sleep and I really needed it.

Anyhow, all better now. In case people were wondering where I vanished to. ^_^

I've also gotten back into writing! Oh how I missed it!!

Growing Pains
Difficult Times
It can be very challenging to maintain a positive attitude and a measure of faith when you are in the midst of difficult times. This is partly because we tend to think that if the universe loves us we will experience that love in the form of positive circumstances. However, we are like children, and the universe is our wise mother who knows what our souls need to thrive better than we do. Just as a young child does not benefit from getting everything she wants, we also benefit from times of constriction and difficulty to help us grow and learn. If we keep this in mind, and continue to trust that we are loved even when things are hard, it helps us bear the difficult time with grace.

This period of time in history is full of difficulty for a lot of human beings, and you may feel less alone knowing you are not being singled out. There are extreme energy changes pulsing through the universe at every level and, of course, we are all part of the growing process and the growing pains. It helps if we remember that life is one phase after another and that this difficult time will inevitably give way to something new and different. When we feel overwhelmed we can comfort ourselves with the wise saying: This too shall pass.

At the same time, if you truly feel that nothing is going right for you, it’s never a bad idea to examine your life and see if there are some changes you can make to alleviate some of the difficulty. Gently and compassionately exploring the areas giving you the most trouble may reveal things you are holding onto and need to release: unprocessed emotions, unresolved transitions, or negative ways of looking at yourself or reality. As you take responsibility for the things you can change, you can more easily surrender to the things you can’t, remembering all the while that this phase will, without doubt, give way to another.

Taking The Risk
Permission To Be Real

Most of us are familiar with the idea of keeping it real and have an intuitive sense about what that means. People who keep it real don’t hide behind a mask to keep themselves safe from their fear of how they might be perceived. They don’t present a false self in order to appear more perfect, more powerful, or more independent. People who keep it real present themselves as they truly are, the good parts and the parts most of us would rather hide, sharing their full selves with the people who are lucky enough to know them.

Being real in this way is not an easy thing to do as we live in a culture that often shows us images of physical and material perfection. As a result, we all want to look younger, thinner, wealthier, and more successful. We are rewarded externally when we succeed at this masquerade, but people who are real remind us that, internally, we suffer. Whenever we feel that who we are is not enough and that we need to be bigger, better, or more exciting, we send a message to ourselves that we are not enough. Meanwhile, people who are not trying to be something more than they are walk into a room and bring a feeling of ease, humor, and warmth with them. They acknowledge their wrinkles and laugh at their personal eccentricities without putting themselves down.

People like this inspire us to let go of our own defenses and relax for a moment in the truth of who we really are. In their presence, we feel safe enough to take off our masks and experience the freedom of not hiding behind a barrier. Those of us who were lucky enough to have a parent who was able to keep it real may find it easier to be that way ourselves. The rest of us may have to work a little harder to let go of our pretenses and share the beauty and humor of our real selves. Our reward for taking such a risk is that as we do, we will attract and inspire others, giving them the permission to be real too.

Feeling Threatened
Afraid Of The Truth

Most of us have had the experience of being in possession of a piece of truth that we were afraid to share because we knew it would not be well received. There are also instances in which we ourselves have been unable to handle some truth confronting us. This might be a small truth, such as not wanting to see that our car needs repairs because we don’t want to pay for them, or a large truth, such as not fully accepting that someone close to us is pushing us away. Usually the truth is evident, and we can see it if we choose, but we have elaborate ways of hiding the truth form ourselves, no matter how apparent it is.

For the most part, we avoid the truth because it scares us, or makes us angry, or makes us feel like we don’t know what to do. We often create our lives based on a particular understanding, and if that understanding turns out to be fully or even partially incorrect, we may feel that our whole sense of reality is being threatened. It takes a strong person to face the truth in circumstances like these, and many of us run for cover instead. Nevertheless, we can only avoid the truth for so long before it begins to make itself known in ever more forceful ways.

Ultimately, there is no way to avoid the truth, no matter how painful it is, so the sooner we let down our defenses, the better. When we know the truth and accept that we may have to adjust our lives to accommodate, we are in alignment with reality. At the same time, we can be patient with people around us who have a hard time seeing the truth, because we know how painful it can be. Whatever the truth is, we make a sincere effort not to close our eyes to it, but instead to be grateful that we have access to it.

What if your main job in life was simply to be happy? How would you start and end your day? What would you do this week to play more, feel lighter, more free and alive? When you choose this higher energetic frequency that's full of love, joy and gratitude, you'll start manifesting all of sorts of glorious things and experiences! With happiness, you can also overcome any constricting emotions like sadness, frustration, guilt, desperation and fear. They simply drop when you are devoted to embodying this Divine state within. Happiness is simply a conscious choice that you can make in each moment of your life no matter what is occurring in your outer world. You can always choose to appreciate who you are and what you have. You can feel this joy inside for no reason at all. Simply choose to be an unstoppable ball of light, love and joy!

"Happiness is a conscious choice, not an automatic response." ~ Mildred Barthel

Your job as a spiritual being is to go beyond playing those "unhappy roles" and step into being the Divine human being you really are. All of those unhappy thoughts, feelings are just caused by thinking patterns...they are not who you truly are. You are much bigger than a handful of thoughts, you are consciousness itself! Simply choose to see that you are always already free from needing "this or that" in order to be happy. You don't need anything or have to figure out anything in life to be happier in this moment. Simply realize the truth of who and what you already are. You are the Source of Love and Happiness itself! Once you truly realize this, happiness will find you. Surrender to your greatest experience of happiness right now. Find your most authentic expression of boundless joy and freedom and express it! This simply creates more happin ess. Once you continuously vibrate at this level, the Universe will reward you with even more satisfying experiences that snowball into manifesting even happier feelings and experiences!
"Act happy, feel happy, be happy, without a reason in the world. Then you can love, and do what you will."
~ Dan Millman

Things manifest much easier when you stop forcing them, and so is the same with happiness. You cannot force happiness by looking for things "out there" to make you more happy "in here". Simply refocus on how much joy is available from being who and what you already are. Remember, you are the God Source itself. What is better than that? You can manifest anything you want when you learn how to become more attuned to this Divine Source within. You will be well taken care of. Everything you want and need to manifest is going to manifest. All the details will take care of themselves. Just relax and be happy! Happiness is your main mission in life and it is always available. Believe it and you will see it for yourself.

"Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved." ~Osho
The greatest secret we've discovered to experiencing a perpetual state of happiness is to remain completely present to the "now" moment in whatever activity you are engaged in. The more you can be completely absorbed by the NOW, the more your energy expands which allows you to feel higher about life! This intentional alignment with the moment allows you to access your Divine authentic self, whereas worrying about the past or future takes you directly into the grips of the ego where unhappiness is. In fact, unhappiness happens only when the ego believes that something else should be happening. When you live consistently in the present moment with your full presence, you attune to the HUM and natural rhythm of this Divine existence. There is such beauty and joy found in what is here now.
"Be a dynamo of irrepressible joy! If you are in peace, I am at peace. If you are happy, I am happy! Be happy!" ~Mahavatar Babaji

It's good to know that you can manifest anything you want easily, effortlessly and even instantly in this physical world. Manifesting is much easier than you have imagined. All you ever have to do is let your true joyful self shine. Watch out for that part of you that's stuck trying to figure it all out. Every time you try to "figure everything out", you actually constrict your energy and start operating out of the head and forget the heart. Happiness is found from living from the heart. You are not here to just live up in your head and try to figure it all of life out. If you became "Mr. or Miss Smarty Pants" you would stop growing, evolving and forget your happiness mission. The student in life always learns more than the teacher who has all the answers. Always be a student of life. Be curious! Play a little everyday and learn how to enjoy whatever you are doing. The Universe will reward you greatly.

Tending Your Own Energy Field
Fill Yourself from the Inside Out

Life presents us with many opportunities to gain mastery in tending our own energy fields. At times we may want to protect ourselves by using energy shields of color, light or angelic presence. Or in order to become more grounded, we may run energy down through our feet or first chakra, rooting ourselves to the earth. Sometimes it’s appropriate to play openly with others in an expansive, flowing state; and at other times, we may want to limit our availability to a chosen few. In certain public environments such as graduation ceremonies, work conventions, or even weddings, it may be important to remain open-hearted and able to connect, while still preventing our individual systems from depletion or overwhelm. In these situations, rather than putting a barrier between ourselves and the world around us, we can fill our energy fields from the inside out. In doing this, we become so filled with our own personal energy that no room is left for outside influences or discordant energy to enter in and affect us.

When you need to connect with people on a one-to-one basis, separate from the bustling environment around you, here is a visualization technique you might try. You can start in the morning and repeat any time as needed. Begin by taking a few moments to breathe deeply and relax. When you are calm and present, envision a ball of light in your solar plexus area just above your belly button. Allow it to build there, growing stronger and stronger. Eventually, allow the light to expand throughout the rest of your body until it fills your entire physical and energetic field.

By filling yourself with your own energy in this way, you become fortified with your own power. You retain access to all of your intuitive and mental abilities. And, you are able to act from a loving space in the midst of any situation.

Remembering the Moment
Enjoying Life

Life, in all of its fullness, is happening right now. While our thoughts are sometimes elsewhere, beautiful opportunities and moments are being passed over and lost to the flow of time. And though we cannot possibly fully experience each leaf that falls to the ground, sometimes we get so attached to reaching our goals that we don’t pay attention to the wonder all around us. When we do that, we live in a world that exists only in our heads, while we miss life itself. There is so much to be enjoyed and appreciated that we need to remember to pay attention to the present moment, because it is the only space in which we can experience being alive.

We learn from our past, but dwelling on it keeps us from being fully present to life in the moment. We create our lives with our thoughts, but focusing so firmly on our imagined future keeps us from co-creating with the universe, so we might never allow ourselves to live our dreams as they manifest. It’s possible to be so happy and comfortable in our inner worlds that we lose touch with the business of life. We may enjoy spending large portions of time in meditation, or focused on our thoughts.

Life must be attended to, and if we are wise, we can enjoy it at the same time. We can awaken ourselves to the moment we are living right now by taking a deep breath and simply looking around. In doing so, we refocus our attention to our location in the real world. Then we can learn to appreciate the process of working toward our goals as much as their attainment. Balancing ourselves between the present moment and eternity, we can experience and enjoy the full range of reality available to us as spiritual beings living on earth.

Someone please help me. I think I am losing my mind. ^_^

Over the past few weeks I have had intense energy "waves". They are random and can sometimes be very intense. I have at times been dizzy and I can't stand to be near any sort of electrical humming--it resonates with my head and it makes me feel very peculiar.

With the waves can come this sense of euphoria. Sometimes it is so intense I cannot concentrate.

I am sleeping well--with the added caveat that when the cycles get intense enough I sleep much less and seem to require quite a bit less. I am eating well. I am always monitoring my diet and am getting more than enough iron, protein, vitamins, and what-have-you--in fact I eat an absurdly healthy diet. I am of sound physical health and even exercise.

What is going on with me? It's very intense, and the energy isn't something I am used to. My body is starting to feel "lighter". There are times when I look around me and I feel like I'm only partly in the world.

Can anyone help me figure out what this is? Is this normal? What does this all mean?

I am tempted to post this on the forums but I don't know how people will react. ^_^;

PS Case in point - I had a pretty intense one yesterday. I've been up since 5am and went to sleep last night around midnight. My usual rate is about 7-9 hours of sleep....

The original source of all tension is becoming. One is always trying to be something; no one is at ease with himself as he is. The being is not accepted, the being is denied, and something else is taken as an ideal to become. So the basic tension is always between that which you are and that which you long to become.

You desire to become something. Tension means that you are not pleased with what you are, and you long to be what you are not. Tension is created between these two. What you desire to become is irrelevant. If you want to become wealthy, famous, powerful, or even if you want to be free, liberated, to be divine, immortal, even if you long for salvation, moksha, then too the tension will be there.

Anything that is desired as something to be fulfilled in the future, against you as you are, creates tension. The more impossible the ideal is, the more tension there is bound to be. So a person who is a materialist is ordinarily not so tense as one who is religious, because the religious person is longing for the impossible, for the far-off. The distance is so great that only a great tension can fill the gap.

Tension means a gap between what you are and what you want to be. If the gap is great, the tension will be great. If the gap is small, the tension will be small. And if there is no gap at all, it means you are satisfied with what you are. In other words, you do not long to be anything other than what you are. Then your mind exists in the moment. There is nothing to be tense about; you are at ease with yourself. You are in the Tao. To me, if there is no gap you are religious; you are in the dharma.

Ok... I'll admit it... I've been on and off again accepting/skeptical/wtf about the otherkin stuff in spite of dreaming/seeing wings on me and having some people see them too.

But everything I read rings so many damned bells with me that I seriously can't deny it. And all of the stuff points to something very interesting.

You know how people are magicians, they practice magick? Ok. I think that otherkin ARE magick. I think that their very existence, something in how they came to be born here is magickal. And those who have had "awakenings" basically flipped that switch, opened the damned fobwatch (woo-hoo Doctor Who ref FTW!! ^_^), and "let 'er rip".

So of course psychic shit comes naturally to them, happens to them, and stuffs. Couldn't tell ya about the other manifestations--other than I think we all sorta are tapped into something which resonates with our magickal natures on that level. I think that natural healers, lightworkers, et cetera of COURSE will be angelkin. That makes just too much sense. Angels are messengers/helpers of the divine, right?

My dad once told me he's part fae. I suspect that part of this is genetic or can be genetic. I couldn't say it's ENTIRELY genetic. I mean, I know people who consider themselves to be otherkin but their parents are (omgs please shoot me for using this term but I dunno how else to put it) "muggles".

This whole debate about whether or not otherkin are just people "trying to be special" sorta reminds me of the argument in some places on practicing magick or being mystics. Not all of us walk the same paths everyone else does, and I don't consider any of it good or bad or different or better or worse than anyone else. I think that everyone needs to follow their own True Will--provided that they are responsible in how they do so and that others are free to do the same.

I think that in time... maybe... perhaps... enough of us will evolve to the point where this sorta thing will be more commonplace. I'd truly love to think so. At the very least, I believe that if enough people believe that, it can happen. I think that to do otherwise is to cave in to the Nothing of the Neverending Story, doomed to be swallowed forever in lies and denials of the self.

There's the Chaos Theory and I'm tempted to get more than one. Should I? Huh? Huh? *bouncebounce*

That reminds me... I need to add tags to my entries. They are way useful. I need them for Lush and BPAL.

(ok, I'm not drinking more than two chais in one day EVER AGAIN... and I used stevia not real sugar... I have no excuse. O_O)

A young woman stands ready with a magick wand. Is she crackers or can she seriously mess up your ass?

Who is your favorite fictional character? Why do you love them? What fictional character bugs you?

Ohhh this is tough. Really really tough.

Um... I love Hikaru from Magic Knight Rayearth, Utena from Revolutionary Girl Utena, the Tenth Doctor in the new Doctor Who series, and um... um... Lain. Lain from Serial Experiments Lain. I like them all because they're idealistic and do their best to live up to their dreams.

There are MANY fictional characters who bug me. >_< Were I to start ranting people would go away: tl;dr.

I'm so happy - I found an emailing list online just for angelkin! It doesn't seem to be too active, tho. ~_~

I desperately need to get to bed soon so I can get to work work work but I'm feeling entirely too energetic. I know it can't be my tea because I made caffeine free. Mmm, chocolate chai!

As of my birthday I have decided to stop being so solitary and get out into the world a bit more, so I created this livejournal and began to look up emailing lists online for people like myself. I'm realizing that I'm nowhere near as odd as I thought and a lot of people out there share my views. I'm so happy. ^_^

But it's really odd! I have the bestest friends ever but I don't get to talk to them about this stuff often. Some of them are Wiccan and they practice magick and I can talk to them a bit but not all of them have interest in things such as angels and spirits. Some even think that angels are too Christian for them. I don't understand that! I see angels as universal beings above religion and all of that dogma crap.

Am I the only white witch who works with angels? O_O

I'm so glad that I took yesterday off to give myself a three day birthday weekend but oh wow I did NOT want to be at work today. I am having serious moon cycle issues. ~_~ I'm going to have to make some nice tea for myself tonight and treat myself to a hot bath.

I like livejournal but I wish more of my friends were on here versus myspace though. I can't stand myspace. >_<

Never mind I figured it out!  I think 40 posts per page is better than 20.  I may stand a chance at reading everything, LOL!

I love gardening!  I have been growing herbs and planting flowers.  It's so neat to have little spots of nature all over my place.  I feel very connected with life when I am surrounded by plants.  Am I the only one who feels this way?  Trees especially, I think.  They feel very old and very serene to me.  I would love to have more of that serenity in my life!

I think as we ascend to a higher consciousness more and more of us will realize that we are connected to absolutely everything and will cease to harm each other in any way.  One could only hope!  I have given up eating meat in the hopes of raising my energy and I really do feel a difference.  It feels so much "lighter" to me.  And yet plants are living creatures too, so it is hard to say that I am not consuming living things.  But I really do feel that there's something to subsisting on plants versus animals.

What does everyone want to be when 2012 comes around?  I hope to be a much better, more serene person--and better capable of helping to heal the world around me!

Namaste.  ^_^

Erm... still getting the hang of Livejournal. ^_^;

Your result for The Color Code Test...

Color Code: BLUE: The Social Butterfly

Here is the basics: For a more in depth analysis, I suggest you look up the Color Code, and take a more intensive test.

BLUE NEEDS: To be good (morally), To be understood, To be appreciated, Acceptance.

BLUE WANTS: To reveal insecurities, Quality, Autonomy, Secuirity.

SUMMARY: Blues are motivated by altruism. They love to do nice things for others. they look for opportunites to give up something in order to bring another person happiness. selflessness rather than selfishness is their guiding philosophy. Blues seek intimacy. They want to be loved and to love. A true blue will sacrifice a successful career to improve an important relationship. Blues crave being understood. They are gratified when they are listened to, when they feel understood and appreciated. Blues may have thier hearts broken more than most people, but they also spend much more time in love. Blues are directed by a strong moral conscience. They have a moral code that guides them in their decision making, their value judgements, and their leisure time. A blue would rather lose than cheat. Ethically, blues are people who should be in positions of power, but seldom are.
